Vacation isn’t a rescue device…

I know this sounds bananas, but holidays can be very demanding!

When you use your holiday to escape your busy life and have a little breather in between the madness, you are doing something very wrong… The thing is, your brain won’t be able to make that shift soon enough for you to actually recharge your batteries enough and have a lasting effect after vacay is over.

That’s why a lot of pressure is put on holidays; they have to make up for everything you didn’t get to do, and for the time you didn’t get to relax. Obviously that is never going to happen in such a short amount of time.

First of all, create daily routines that serve you all year long, so you don’t NEED the vacation, but you can actually enjoy it as a bonus on top of your fabulous life.

Secondly, keep up those routines when you are on holiday, so you can enjoy it to the fullest. Often we tend to throw everything over the bridge when on vacation, because we tell ourselves this story that we don’t need it now. However the opposite is true; the more you stick to what works and continue the mind work that serves you, the more you will be able to relax and enjoy the party.

Thirdly, do new things; explore new environments, challenge yourself to discover at least one thing you didn’t know about yourself yet for example. This way your confidence is growing while you are having fun! 😉

And finally, take little breathers in between all of the action, so your body and mind get the chance to process everything and find inner peace, and you get to keep your energy levels high during and after your amazing holiday.
